Hello world its me Nathan Hurde from PawByte,
It has been some time since our last post. This summer led to an unusual time for us at PawByte. Although, we rarely take weeks and even months off; this summer we did. As many in the industry know game development is not easy, stressful and very time consuming. This summer I was able to travel to Missouri, Colorado, Arizona and California. I was generally surprised at the amount of places I was able to go to this summer as I’m not the biggest traveler. Now, I’m back home for about 6 weeks until the next trip. On these trips I was able to see so many great places that I hope can be an inspiration for game development and level design.
On these trips I also weighed the business model of PawByte and decided to make the Game Pencil Engine free entirely, meaning there is no longer a deluxe edition, simply download and get all that GPE offers. You can read more about it in our post here.
Going forward me and the team will focus on monthly and emergency updates to GPE. When not working on GPE, we will spend most of our time on actual game development. So with a renewed focus and commit we plan to bring great games to you soon.
